Joan Sylvia McCloskey

Joan Sylvia McCloskey, 87, of Fallowfield Twp., passed away peacefully on November 24th, 2022, with her loving family by her side. Born in Donora, on January 14th, 1935, Joan was the daughter of the late Walter & Wilma (Matthews) Nogy.

Christian by faith, Joan was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Charleroi, the Charleroi Athene Club and the Charleroi Garden Club. Joan was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and she will be deeply missed.

Surviving to cherish Joan’s memory; her son's Kelly (Marla) McCloskey, of Belle Vernon, and Scott (Jennifer) McCloskey, of Youngwood. Her daughter, Holly (James) Kauffman, of Greensburg, and her brother Walter Nogy. Her grandchildren; Mitchell (Alexa) McCloskey, Matthew McCloske y, Keven (Alicia) McCloskey, Joel (Stephanie) Houston, Sarah McCloskey, Larkin McCloskey and Matthew (Molly) Kauffman. Great-grandchildren Tanner and Connor Kauffman, Bryson Houston and Alyce McCloskey. Joan is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents Joan is preceded in death by her husband Rudolph “Rudy” McCloskey and her sister, Cherie Perlmutter.    

Friends and family will be received from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00pm on Monday November 28th, 2022 at HOGAN-MELENYZER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC, 226 Fallowfield Avenue, Charleroi, PA 15022. Funeral service will be held inside the funeral home at 10:00am on Tuesday, November 29th, 2022, with Pastor Randy Ord officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
