Timothy Zetka Obituary

Timothy Philip Charles Zetka, 74, passed away painlessly, from the result of a house fire, on the evening of November 28th, 2022 at UPMC Mercy Hospital with his loving wife and daughter by his side. Tim was born on September 18th, 1948, to the late Charles and Evelyn Marie (Strimel) Zetka.

As a young boy, Tim played baseball and had a beloved baseball card collection. He had a tremendous love for fishing and was an avid hunter. His hunting career began at the age of 17 in 1965 and had a license for every year since, tucked away in a tin box to prove it. He had a slew of hunting/fishing buddies but it was his late uncle, Tony Zelinsky who encouraged the hobbies as well as the late Herbert Schneider both of Roscoe, PA where Tim grew up. His passion carried him to many of the western states, including Montana and Wyoming as well as New Mexico.

Tim’s studies made him a metallurgist and he became employed by the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation. He was also a very skilled handyman and

carpenter who could build just about anything he set out to, including a home for a hunting buddy in Wyoming.

Surviving Tim; is his wife Bernadette Dolores Zetka whom with he recently celebrated 50 years of marriage with in September, his daughter Tamara Marie Zetka of North Carolina, his son Patrick Zachary Zetka, his sisters Donna Petrosky, Pamala (Richard) Marcavitch and brother Charles Zetka. Also Tim’s grandchildren whom he loved dearly and visited frequently via FaceTime, Tempestt Jade, Tayla Venee’ and Taliyah Jenee’ also his great-grandson Corentin Legend, of which reside in NC.

The journey isn’t over yet dad, we’ll be happy yet, fishing together somewhere soon. No more pain nor stress or bad days, just blue skies, pretty lakes and plenty of big mouth bass!

In addition to Tim’s parents, he is also preceded in death by his sister Tracy Zetka and his favorite hunting and fishing partner Uncle, Tony

Zelinsky.
